The Youth Unit exists to encourage and coordinate ministry with
young people within the Uniting Church in Australia NSW Synod [NSW/ACT].
Its aims include:
Faith shaping and discipleship
Encouraging participation
Challenging the church
Expanding people's vision
Mission and outreach opportunities
Supporting, resourcing and equipping people
creating a future focus
Building stronger networks
Youth ministry consultations with congregations
Communication
Service or action based youth ministry projects
Learning to listen to the community
Regional centres as a focus for ministry with young people
working on the Synod Strategic
Goals and Directions

Field staff within the Youth Unit are available to:
Visit congregations and regions
Run a consultation or training and formation workshop
Answer questions
Provide advocacy for ministry with young people
Suggest resources
Help lead and plan worship in different styles
Point towards regional and synod events and programs
Share visions and frustrations
Work with the emerging church
