The Youth Unit exists to encourage and coordinate ministry with young people within the Uniting Church in Australia NSW Synod [NSW/ACT].

Its aims include:
• Faith shaping and discipleship
• Encouraging participation
• Challenging the church
• Expanding people's vision
• Mission and outreach opportunities
• Supporting, resourcing and equipping people

creating a future focus
• Building stronger networks
• Youth ministry consultations with congregations
• Communication
• Service or action based youth ministry projects
• Learning to listen to the community
• Regional centres as a focus for ministry with young people

working on the Synod Strategic Goals and Directions
• leadership
• faith and discipleship
• authentic connections with the community
• new forms of church

the coordinator and youth worker – cutting edges
Field staff within the Youth Unit are available to:

• Visit congregations and regions
• Run a consultation or training and formation workshop
• Answer questions
• Provide advocacy for ministry with young people
• Suggest resources
• Help lead and plan worship in different styles
• Point towards regional and synod events and programs
• Share visions and frustrations
• Work with the emerging church
