Stories of Hope

“Stories of Hope” was written as a response to speaking on that theme at Hunter Easter Camp in 2005 and again in Far North QLD 2006. It was always going to be about HOPE and I had a few hooks but couldn’t get the verses together in any coherent way.

Attending Murray McKay and Yvette’s wedding I noticed the tattoo on Jeri Murphy’s shoulder blade of the words ‘faith’, ‘hope’ and ‘love’!! Suddenly I had my three verses and acknowledgement that HOPE is the fuel for the others and could rightly be the focus.

Tragics will pick up the U2 line and theologians will hear resonance with the work of Jurgen Moltmann.

Phil Newton kindly agreed to fashion a tune for this wordy prose and I’m very grateful to he and Jill for an MP3 because nobody needs me teaching them how this song works!!
