Welcome to 'Urban Mission and Evangelism'

With the complexities of 21st Century living comes the challenge for the church to be relevant and connected to those around them. Many are asking the question, “How can we offer effective ministry where we are?”

Mission in urban and suburban communities is challenging due to the variety of cultures and backgrounds that influence people's attitudes to faith and life.

Congregations need support to decide who God is calling them to be in mission with and how large regional churches, middle-sized neighbourhood and small faith communities all need to be developed as a part of the Uniting Church's future mission.

For 2008 The main focus of the Board of Mission in this area will be the U-Turn project, Jesus Conversations, Regional Congregations & Contemporary Worship.
