The ABC (“Above our Budget Commitments” and “Above and Beyond with Christ”) and Easter Thank Offering Appeals give congregations, groups and individuals an opportunity to support new mission and ministry projects.
Each year the Board of Mission supports eight projects - four from our partner churches overseas and four from Uniting Church congregations or agencies across Australia.
Easter Thank Offering Envelopes are then distributed to congregations in March outlining the four selected projects for this Appeal.
The projects identified for the ABC Appeal are advertised by a DVD presentation produced by the Board of Mission and includes information about the success of the previous year’s Appeal. Copies of the DVD are available from the various Presbytery offices and the Board of Mission office at Level 9,222 Pitt Street, Sydney. The DVDs are available for loan throughout the year.
If you are participating in God's mission for the world in a creative way and are seeking funding, contact the Board of Mission for an application form.
MAIN CRITERIA
1. Projects are creatively ‘sharing the Gospel’ and engaging in mission and ministry with people.
2. Seek to have an educational and/or material and/or spiritual long term benefit for individuals or communities.
3. Are unable to receive major funding from other church or agency sources.
