Cross Cultural and World Mission

about uscross cultural congregation

What is 'Cross Cultural'?

The word 'cross-cultural' implies a movement from one culture to another. To cross to the other side we do not need to go overseas nowadays.  People with different cultural and racial backgrounds have come to us as neighbours.
In the church, more and more congregations embrace new members from overseas who make their home here.  Intentional or not, congregations, especially in urban areas, have to deal with diversity among us.

What we do:

• Promote cross-cultural interaction in the church

•Assist Presbyteries and congregations regarding cross-cultural issues

•Conduct workshops and educational meetings

•Provide cross-cultural resources for the life of the church

•Encourage 1.5 and second generation leadership in the church

•Publish Interaction magazine and other materials

What is 'World Mission'?

World Mission is a unit within the Board of Mission in the NSW Synod.  We promote awareness and participation of our churches mission activity in the world.

Two annual appeals are conducted - ABC Appeal and Easter Thank Offering, through which we support programs of our partner churches in Asia, Pacific and Africa alongside Australian needs
