Mission

The Uniting Church is called to carry forward the work that Jesus Christ began in all aspects of people’s lives.

The church is to be a fellowship of reconciliation, a body within which the diverse gifts of its members are used for the building up of the whole, an instrument through which Christ may work and bear witness to himself.

Its mission is to be a living presence of God in the community, following the example of Christ, so that God’s transforming love may be experienced by all.

Jesus said to those who followed him, “As the Father has sent me, so do I send you.” These pages focus on how that calling is carried out at in evangelism, development of congregations, internationally through the work of the world mission agencies and in rural and urban situations.
