Welcome to Newcastle
In the Hunter Presbytery we’re excited to be hosting the 2011 meeting of the Synod of New South Wales and the ACT.
Plans are well underway for this to be a great synod. I’ll be installed as Moderator at Synod’s opening service on Friday September 23. The meeting itself will kick off on Saturday September 24 and takes place at Newcastle University — a beautiful bushland setting.
Uniting Church people in the Hunter are working hard to ensure you’ll have a great stay in our region; with healthy lunches, a visitors program, coffee carts, a special welcome to country and more planned for your enjoyment. We’re also working with the Synod Arrangements Committee to make this a green Synod and an inspiring Synod. My hope is it will set us on new and risky paths with God.
